Strategic Media Unit

Edelman London's core business is focused on providing strategic and tactical media relations for our clients. We believe that media relations is at the heart of the value we provide. This year we enhanced our consultancy services with the launch of our Strategic Media Unit (SMU).

The SMU is staffed by media relations experts and is headed up by Jo Sheldon, former CNBC anchor. The SMU can add value in a number of ways:

  • Top Story Programme - working in partnership with companies and their agencies to ensure that the organisation is focused on delivering quality 'signature' coverage that changes perceptions
  • Leadership Days - creating a bespoke programme to develop deeper relationships for company's spokespeople with media and those who influence the news agenda (e.g. policy think tanks, business organisations.)
  • Broadcast Strategy - working with the broadcast media supply chain (not exclusively news outlets) to identify medium-term opportunities profiling business in a positive light
  • Strategic Platforms - using Edelman's BrandC.A.R.E methodology, a proven process which develops unique and ownable ideas that provide the creative basis for public relations programmes.
